What is a Flange Adaptor?

Flange adaptors enable easy assembly/disassembly of pipeline equipment in field installations where standard threaded flanges are costly or time-consuming. They compensate for axial displacement, deflection, and eccentricity while providing secure, leak-tight connections.

Ideal for pumped sewerage, water, oil, gas, and powder transport. For PE pipes, use with pipe inserts.

Structure and Working Principle of Flange Adaptor

  • Flange End: Features a standard flange face and bolt holes, allowing direct connection to valves, pumps, or other flanged components.
  • Socket/Spigot End: Designed to connect to non-flanged pipes, using a rubber gasket in combination with external clamping bolts and a compression ring to apply radial pressure to the pipe’s outer wall.

When installed, tightening the clamping bolts compresses the gasket against the pipe, creating a secure, leak-proof seal. The flange end then connects to the mating flanged component, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly without cutting or welding.

  • 2 Slide socket end onto pipe to marked depth.
  • 3 Align flange holes with mating component.
  • 4 Tighten flange bolts diagonally to specified torque.
  • 5 Evenly tighten socket clamping bolts for uniform compression.
  • 6 Perform final inspection and pressure test.
