Premium Wear & Corrosion Shield
Cast basalt tile lined pipes feature durable interlocking basalt tiles inside steel pipes, offering outstanding abrasion and chemical resistance for slurry, ash, and dust systems.
Cast basalt tile lined pipes consist of a heavy-duty steel shell with an interior fitted with precision-molded basalt tiles, bonded using cement mortar or specialized adhesive. Each tile, cast from volcanic basalt at temperatures exceeding 1,300 °C, is cut to tight tolerances and interlocked within the pipe wall to form a smooth, seamless wear-resistant lining.
Main Benefits:
High Abrasion Resistance: Basalt tiles possess a Mohs hardness of 7–8, ideal for resisting wear from abrasive media such as fly ash, ore, cement, and slurries. Their self-polishing surface reduces friction and prolongs lifespan.
Chemical Durability: Basalt’s inert nature resists acids, alkalis, and saline environments, protecting pipelines in harsh chemical or flue gas conditions.
Thermal Stability: Capable of withstanding temperatures up to approximately 400–450 °C, maintaining integrity under thermal cycling.
Versatile Fitting Compatibility: Suitable for straight pipes, elbows, tees, bends, chutes, and custom fittings, thanks to tile adaptability in curved and flat geometries.
Ease of Installation & Low Maintenance: Tiles can be installed or replaced modularly, reducing installation time and cutting maintenance costs.
Typical Specifications:
Diameter Range: DN50–DN800+, custom sizes available for larger diameters.
Lining Thickness: 20–30 mm basalt tile thickness recommended for standard industrial loads.
Pipe Length: Standard lengths from 4 to 12 m.
Connection Methods: Available with flange, butt-weld, or socket-weld ends.
Design Considerations: Recommended tile pattern and minimum bend radius of 3× nominal bore, with straight basalt-lined sections of at least 5–12×DN after bends to ensure flow stability.
Far exceeds unlined steel, AR plate and most ceramic linings in severe sliding abrasion.
Resists almost all acids, alkalis and saline solutions (except HF).
Continuous service up to 350–450 °C (grade dependent).
Prevents material adhesion and reduces pressure loss & energy consumption.
Steel outer shell allows normal welding. Damaged sections can be cut out and replaced individually without dismantling the entire line.
Cast basalt lined pipes (also known as玄武岩铸石衬里钢管) offer exceptional abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, and smooth flow characteristics, making them ideal for hydraulic & pneumatic conveying of abrasive slurries in medium-impact environments.
