ASTM A335 P22 Seamless Ferritic Alloy Steel Pipe

Chrome Moly Piping For Superior Corrosion And Creep Resistance

Astm a335 p22 seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe offers excellent corrosion resistance and creep strength, ideal for high-temperature boiler pipeline protection in power plants and petrochemical industries.

ASTM A335 P22 Alloy Steel Pipe is a seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe designed for high-temperature service, offering excellent corrosion resistance and thermal stability. Complying with ASTM A335/ASME SA335 standards, this Chrome Moly Pipe contains 1.90–2.60% chromium and 0.87–1.13% molybdenum, making it ideal for applications in power plants, refineries, and petrochemical industries.

The ASTM A335 P22 Pipe is manufactured through hot-rolling or cold-drawing processes, followed by appropriate heat treatment to achieve optimal mechanical properties. Its high chromium content enhances oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength, while molybdenum improves hardenability and resistance to wear, making it suitable for boiler pipeline protection.

Available in sizes from 1/2” to 24” (DN15 to DN600), with wall thicknesses ranging from SCH 40 to SCH 160, and lengths up to 12 meters or customized, it meets diverse project requirements. The pipe is designed for bending, flanging, and fusion welding, with recommended preheating and post-weld heat treatment to ensure weld integrity and prevent cracking.

The Seamless Alloy Pipes undergo rigorous testing, including tensile, flattening, hardness, and hydrostatic tests, to ensure compliance with ASTM A335 standards. With a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa and yield strength of 205 MPa, the pipe offers strong resistance to rupturing at high temperatures (up to 650°C) and pressures.

Surface treatments such as varnishing, 3LPE, or FBE coatings further enhance durability, and plain or beveled ends facilitate easy installation. The pipe’s versatility also extends to manufacturing pipe fittings like elbows, tees, and reducers under ASTM A234 WP22 standards, ensuring compatibility with complex piping systems.
